Solar panels in Seville
A 6 kWp home system in Seville is modelled to produce about 9,581 kWh a year, or 1,597 kWh per installed kWp, from PVGIS climate data at the city's coordinates. Seville's 2026 property tax (IBI) ordinance gives a 50% rebate for residential properties with solar systems, for the three tax years after the installation starts operating. Two verified local rules and their sources are listed below. In our full list of 41 cities worldwide, Seville is 4th. Among our 4 Spain cities, Seville comes first on yield. Valencia gets 1,563 kWh per kWp. Year-one savings come to about EUR 996, for a simple payback of 6.8 years.

IBI rebate for solar panels
Seville's 2026 property tax (IBI) ordinance gives a 50% rebate for residential properties with solar systems, for the three tax years after the installation starts operating. It must be requested by 1 March of the tax year it applies to, and it does not apply to installations required by the city's energy and climate ordinance.

ICIO construction tax rebate for solar
Seville's construction tax (ICIO) ordinance for 2026 gives a 75% rebate for works whose only purpose is adding solar systems for self-consumption, unless the installation is mandatory under the city's energy ordinance.

How Seville compares
Seville ranks 1 of 4 for yield among the cities we model in Spain, and 4 of 41 across every country on Solar Figures. Within one country the prices are the same, so a payback gap between these cities comes from sunshine alone.
| City | kWh per kWp / yr | Payback (EUR) |
|---|---|---|
| Seville | 1,597 | 6.8 yrs |
| Valencia | 1,563 | 7.0 yrs |
| Madrid | 1,548 | 7.1 yrs |
| Barcelona | 1,508 | 7.3 yrs |
| National reference point (country page) | 1,549 | 7.1 yrs |
Closest yield abroad: Perth (1,618 kWh per kWp), Marseille (1,563 kWh per kWp), Delhi (1,552 kWh per kWp).
What moves the payback in Seville
Power you use yourself is worth the retail price (€0.21 per kWh); power you export earns €0.06. So the share you use at home, by running appliances in daylight or adding a battery, changes the payback. The system cost stays the same in every row (a battery would add to it).
| Used at home | Year-1 savings | Payback |
|---|---|---|
| 20% | €854 | 8.1 yrs |
| 30% (our default) | €996 | 6.8 yrs |
| 50% | €1,281 | 5.2 yrs |
| 70% | €1,565 | 4.2 yrs |
- Net system cost after incentives: €6,480 for 6 kWp.
- Incentive modelled: €720 (IRPF energy-efficiency deduction, modelled at a conservative 10% (the 40% band, base max 7,500 EUR, applies only with an A/B energy rating or >=30% non-renewable primary-energy cut)).
- 25-year net savings at our default: €25,006.
Best panel angle in Seville
At latitude 37.39°N, PVGIS finds the fixed tilt and direction that maximise yearly output. Our figures use a common 35° roof; the table shows what the optimum adds.
| Setup | Tilt | Facing | kWh per kWp / yr |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard roof (used on this page) | 35° | south | 1,597 |
| PVGIS optimum | 34° | south (180°) | 1,597 |
In Seville a 35° roof is already at the optimum. Most of a roof's value comes from its direction: a roof facing away from the equator loses far more than a few degrees of tilt.
